Our work…
Building on the community mural work of Pigeon Loft Murals, we are pleased to announce the formation of People Place Public Art CIC in July 2025, a new non-profit community interest company based in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. People Place Public Art CIC aims to:
Empower people to create
Increase the vibrancy and highlight the unique character of shared public spaces
Build a sense of ownership and connection
Our process involves a mix of:
Consultation- so that people have a say in public art in their area
Co-design- giving people the opportunity to create, to tell their own stories and to draw on their expertise about their local area
Co-creation- involving people in painting murals to build a sense of ownership and connection between people working together
Celebration of new public artwork- increasing pride in shared public spaces
Ellen Strachan, Artist & Designer
People Place Public Art CIC was founded by Artist and Designer, Ellen Strachan (known professionally as Pigeon Loft Murals), along with two other experienced Directors to provide oversight. It builds on Ellen’s track record of successful community murals and creative wayfinding signage projects.
Through People Place Public Art CIC, we aim to bring the benefits of public art projects to a diverse range of communities. Ellen will now work on community art projects through People Place Public Art CIC and she will continue to offer murals for business and private residences through Pigeon Loft Murals.
